Good Samaritan Episcopal Church is a growing community of open-minded Christians who seek to do what Jesus taught us: to include, love, and serve all people without exception. We are a new church without walls, and we meet in places where we can serve and be with our neighbors. We seek to build a diverse fellowship, and we welcome all who want to ask deep questions and put faith into action.
We seek to be inclusive and welcome into the full life and ministry of our church all persons without regard to age, race, gender, sexual orientation, sexual identity, ethnicity, religion, marital status, economic status and personal ability. We celebrate the diversity of humanity as a part of God’s abundance and grace, and affirm all families and relationships based on love, respect, responsibility and trust.
Upcoming Gatherings in August
Wine & Canvas: Friday, August 19 at 6 p.m.: It's a Painting Party for Adults! We'll gather for a pizza supper at 6:00 p.m., and then turn the kids over to the on-site sitters as the adults 21+ create a beautiful painting, led by the folks at Canvas Paintings by Katie! We'll have a variety of desserts and beverages available (including some delicious non-alcoholic choices, as always). Cost is $25 per each adult who is painting (to cover the cost of the canvas, instructor, and supplies), and we ask for a $5 donation per child to cover the cost of the sitters. Scholarships are available by request to Father Gray. Register here by next Monday, August 14.
Sunday, August 21: Mass on the Grass! at 10 a.m.: Join us at Arbuckle Acres for a summertime favorite! We will meet at Shelter 4 and share time together with worship and a pitch-in afterwards. Good Sam's provides the fried chicken and plates/napkins/silverware and drinks, you provide the sides by first letter of your last name. A-E brings salad. F-M brings side. N-Z brings desserts. Bring food donations for the Brownsburg Food Pantry.
Sunday, August 28 at 10 a.m. at Harris Academy ((725 S. Green Street, Brownsburg): We’ll come together for a festive morning of worship, great music, and afterwards serve our community through a service hands-on project for Harris Academy Nursery! Good Samaritan Kids is available for young ones four and up. All are welcome!
Family Promise: Thursday, September 1 from 6-7:30 p.m.: Help us share dinner at Messiah Lutheran Church with local families who are taking the first step toward leaving homelessness. We provide them with a listening ear, a delicious meal, and encouragement and support. Able to bring a dish or to give an hour of your time? Be in touch with Yvonne Brandenburg at firstname.lastname@example.org. Families welcome!
